Roles & clubs
This page explains the vocabulary Matcha uses so the rest of the guide makes sense.
Clubs (schools, academies, indoor centres)
Section titled “Clubs (schools, academies, indoor centres)”In Matcha, every organisation is a club — whether it’s a cricket club, a school or university, a coaching academy / training centre, or an indoor centre. They all work the same way; the type is just a label set when the club is created.
A club has many members. Each member has a role within that club.
Roles within a club
Section titled “Roles within a club”| Role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control of the club, including promoting admins and transferring ownership |
| Admin | Manage members, invites, rosters, and settings |
| Coach | Review and give feedback on players’ deliveries; approve join requests |
| Player | Record sessions and receive analysis |
How people get into a club
Section titled “How people get into a club”There are two ways to join a club, and they decide your role:
- By invite (recommended). A club owner/admin invites you by email with a chosen role. When you sign up (or accept), you join with that role — e.g. a coach invited as a coach lands as a coach.
- By invite code. A club shares a short code. Anyone who joins with the code joins as a player.
Where each role works
Section titled “Where each role works”- Owners, admins, and coaches do their work in the Portal (web).
- Players do their work in the App (mobile).
Coaches can also have the app installed (for example to record), but club management lives in the portal.
